DBT-Informed Therapy for College & Young Adult Women
Work with Danielle Gofman, MA, LPC | Virtual Therapy in Connecticut & Virginia
If you are a college student or young adult woman who looks high-functioning on the outside but feels emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of self-criticism, or exhausted by trying to hold everything together, you are not alone. Many of Danielle’s clients come to therapy feeling driven, capable, and self-aware — yet worn down by the constant effort of managing intense emotions, anxiety, or relationship stress.
Danielle offers DBT-informed therapy designed to help you build practical skills for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and responding to stress more effectively, while also exploring the deeper patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others. Her approach is both compassionate and structured, so change feels supported, sustainable, and grounded in what truly matters to you.

You Might Be Here Because…
You may recognize yourself in one or more of these experiences:
Your emotions feel intense, unpredictable, or hard to manage
You struggle with self-criticism, perfectionism, or feeling constantly “on edge”
You want healthier relationships but keep falling into the same patterns
You know what should help, but struggle to follow through consistently
These patterns are not signs of failure. They are often ways your system has learned to cope with pressure, emotional sensitivity, and high expectations. Therapy is a space to understand those patterns — and develop new, healthier ways to respond with more flexibility and choice.
What Makes Danielle’s Approach Different
Danielle specializes in working with high-achieving, emotionally sensitive young women navigating anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges during college and early adulthood.
Her work blends evidence-based, skills-focused therapy with values-centered exploration. This means you will not only learn tools for managing emotions and communication — you will also explore what drives your reactions, beliefs, and patterns, and how to build a more authentic, balanced relationship with yourself.
Clients often describe Danielle as warm, deeply attentive, and gently challenging — someone who creates a sense of safety while also helping them move beyond familiar, unhelpful cycles.
What Working Together Looks Like
Sessions with Danielle are collaborative and practical. Depending on your goals, your work may include:
Learning DBT skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindful awareness, and interpersonal effectiveness
Identifying thought patterns that fuel anxiety, self-judgment, avoidance, or people-pleasing
Building communication and boundary-setting skills for healthier relationships
Reconnecting with your values so decisions and changes are guided by meaning, not pressure or fear
This is therapy designed to support both insight and action — helping you make changes that show up in daily life, not just in session.
