Gofman Therapy and Consulting • Westport, CT • Independent Contractor
About the Practice
Gofman Therapy and Consulting is a specialty practice based in Westport, Connecticut, providing evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety, eating disorders, and chronic pain to adolescents, young adults, and professionals.
We are growing intentionally, and our goal is to build a lean, high-quality group practice where clinicians can do meaningful work, develop real specialty competency, and be part of a collaborative environment that actually supports them. This is not a high-volume model. We are looking for clinicians who want to grow with us.
The Opportunity
This is an independent contractor position with a clear pathway to a full-time role for the right fit. You will build a caseload at a sustainable pace, with the expectation of growing toward 10–15 clinical hours per week. You will have access to regular case consultation — particularly around ERP and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) — and the support of a practice that prioritizes clinical excellence over volume.
This role is in-person at our Westport, CT office. We believe the in-person environment is part of what makes the clinical work and the team culture work.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults using evidence-based modalities, with a primary focus on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety
- Work with clients experiencing chronic pain, either with existing competency in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) or with a genuine interest and commitment to developing it — we will support your training
- Build a caseload that grows toward 10–15 sessions per week, with flexibility in how you structure your schedule
- Participate in regular case consultation with the practice founder and, over time, with peer clinicians as the team grows
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate on treatment planning and coordinate with outside providers where clinically appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Connecticut licensure required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or doctoral equivalent); independently licensed clinicians strongly preferred; associate-licensed candidates with strong ERP training and experience will be considered
- Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Demonstrated training and experience in ERP for OCD; experience across the anxiety spectrum a strong plus
- Existing background in chronic pain treatment, OR a clear and motivated interest in developing PRT competency
- Comfortable and experienced working with both adolescent and adult populations
- Strong clinical instincts, good boundaries, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- A practice philosophy that aligns with evidence-based care and ongoing professional development
Compensation & Structure
This is an independent contractor arrangement. Compensation is structured as a percentage split of session fees — specific terms will be discussed during the interview process. This position offers a genuine pathway to a full-time employed role as the practice grows and the fit is established.
Why Join Us
- Specialty-focused work — you will treat the kinds of cases that drew you to this field, not a general caseload of whatever comes through the door
- Real consultation and support — regular case consultation is built into how we operate, not an afterthought
- Room to grow — we are expanding deliberately, and early team members will have the opportunity to shape what this practice becomes
- Sustainable pace — we protect clinician capacity; you will not be pressured toward an unsustainable caseload
- Private pay model — no insurance billing, no claim denials, no prior authorizations
